SWOT Analysis of Boots


In this part we are going to discuss about the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat of Boots entrance in Bangladesh.

STRENGTH

*      As Boots is already well known in abroad so it will be accepted well by the customers.
*      Boots has all the Branded products which will help to increase brand loyalty to the customers.
*      As Boots are already well known so the advertising and other promotional activities will be easier for the franchisee.
*      As Boots are entering in Bangladesh market the franchisor will give them the support - usually including training, help setting up the business, a manual telling you how to run the business and ongoing advice etc.
*      Financing the business makes it easier for the company. As Boots are already known to the customers, Banks will easily provide the financial support to them.
*      Risk can be reduced and can be easily shared by the franchisor.

 WEAKNESS
*      If any case the raw material is not found then it will be a great weakness for them. In this case they have to face many problems.
*      As they need to set up a well decorated shop the cost will be high and also bringing products from the home country will also be costly. So they must need to have the ability for that.
*      Again the promotion of the products, advertising, attracting the customers are also costly and for that they also need to have good management for this and cost is also important.
*      Again choosing the right location is a big matter for them. So they need to select a better place where the customers can have all the facilities they need.
*      The franchise agreement usually includes restrictions on how you run the business. So the Boots franchisee might not be able to make changes to suit your local market.
*      The franchisor might go out of business, or change the way they do things in that case they can have serious problem.
OPPORTUNITIES
*      They can have the availability of the supplier as they are already well known.
*      They can also have enough labor in Bangladesh to operate their business.
*      If they do well in Bangladesh then they can extend their stores in different places.
*      If they can follow some of the other departmental stores in the cases of promotional activities then they can easily target the segment they want.
*      As there are some people in the Bangladesh who always buys branded products so in this case they have much opportunity to do well. They already have the ready customers for them; they just need to make them aware of their products.
THREATS
*     As most of the people do not buy branded products so in this case they may have to face hard days to attract the customers.
*     When there will be strike or other political problems then they may face problem from the sides of supplier and also from the sides of customers too.
*     Their competitors are also a big threat for them. So in this case they may keep an eye on them and try to match their path with them.
*     Their choosing of the location to set up the store may also be a threat for them. If they chose a place where there is not enough purchasing power of the customers then they can not make profit.
